How we use these sources

Every claim on BehindTheHate is backed by at least one source from this library. When sources disagree, we show both positions and explain the methodological reasons for the divergence rather than picking a winner.

We prioritize sources that are free to access, methodologically transparent, regularly updated, and widely cited in peer-reviewed literature. Where a source is paywalled or restricted, we flag it and rely on publicly available summaries.

Sources marked as Academic Restricted require formal application for bulk dataset access. We use their published reports but may not redistribute raw microdata.
